Can’t say I’m surprised. Disappointed, sure, but not surprised.

Really seemed pretty effortless, especially considering how down on hp it is to those competitors.

Disappointed?

That the Porsche was dethroned? That it wasn’t even faster? Yeah... Not sure I understand “disappointed” either... (There’s time left on that track... Not that I’m saying I could do better, just that I saw a couple places where a tenth or two looked to be had if they really just nailed it absolutely perfectly...)

(See username) I mean, many things about this new-gen GT were disappointing to me, but hey, whatever; it is what it is. I thought the new ACR had already beaten the 918, but I guess not. Go America, then. Even if it is a V6.

Well yes, Ford sacrificed the road car in order to make the race car lighter. They knew from the start they would have their horsepower cut back significantly due to BoP rules so they didn’t need an engine that was capable of making more power. I blame the WEC for the V6 in the
GT. Ferrari and McLaren are interested in selling road cars to fund their racing, so they use V8s or better; Ford just wanted to win Le Mans.
